Urgent need
Please share – This rescue is in urgent need now.
We are in a crisis. San Antonio is in crisis and many of us are sacrificing ourselves to try and save some of these innocent dogs. We currently have a momma dog and her 5 pups that were to be killed. They are in foster and thriving and nearing weaning anhd transport to Vermont.
We have Biggy the emaciated EB at the vet clinic. He is not ready to transport but is ready for a foster. There are none, $21.00 per day. We have two lab puppies, one year old that were to die last week for space. They are in private boarding $20 x 2 per day. We have a 4 month old Bulldog puppy undergoing hernia and spay surgery asI type. She will then be fostered and recover until transport in 2 weeks.
We have little Amari, now recovering from years of abuse and neglect. Her two brothers will die tomorrow because we do not have the funds to pay boarding for them. We have a Bull Terrier who was surrendered, most likely scared to death. He lashed out at another dog while being walked through the shelter and a person was bit trying to restrain the two dogs. There was no broken skin and no hospital but into isolation he went. We pulled him. He will go to vet boarding, at $21 per day.
Every face that you see in this album would have died in just the past eight weeks. When my daughter gets angry with me because I am 65 years old and live with chronic 24/7 pain from a spinal injury sustained in a train derailment, I ask her to look at those faces and pick out the ones that should have died in order for me to sleep past 4:30 a.m or get into bed before midnight.
As we dole out the best food, non grain, venison/kangaroo/lamb, I wonder if we have ramen left in the pantry because it is fast. My daughter worrries about losing me because I am saving dogs. Honestly I worry too. I need a vacation. I need to not look at euthanasia lists for 4 days or two or one. I understand and hear her concern. We are in a crisis which does not help.
Our transport for tomorrow did not book space for our dogs. Our next transport is two weeks away. We have 4 dogs in boarding at $20 per day and Biggy and Bull Terrier at vet at $21 per day. Then we have $175.00 each for transport. Our adoption fee is $475 which people complain about constantly. These dogs get the best. We will not put sick dogs on transport. We will not board at a questionable facility and cross our fingers.
If we are to survive we need sponsors. Please consider sponsoring a dog’s board for the next two weeks. That is 14 days at $20 per day. Please consider sponsoring a dogs transport at $175. This would lift some of the burden from me and allow us to keep going. I can not sacrifice any more than I am. That is the truth. We beg for fosters, we have one. We plead for volunteers, we have 4. We keep going but at what cost? Please consider one of these scenarios.
