Sharp, unexpected financial blow

We can’t seem to catch a financial break. Earlier this week, we welcomed Great Pyrenees, Finneas. There are not enough synonyms for the word kind to describe this boy. Gentle, loving, obdient, eager to please, he is a dreamboat. He developed a cough yesterday so off to the vets he went. A chest x-ray was taken and the results were evident: pneumonia. He is staying at Fitzgerald Veterinary Hospital today for IV fluids/meds/lab work. The estimate is $700.

This sharp turn of unexpected financial burden may just make the decision for us to honor the commitment to the dogs we now have, the dogs that are in foster and those awaiting transport and then take a hard look and decide whether this rescue continues or not.

We are tired, financially stretched almost to the breaking point and contemplating the future of the rescue. If any of the hundreds of dogs we have saved have touched your soul and pulled at heartstrings, please consider a donation either directly to the rescue, www.VermontEnglishBulldogRescue.com or to Fitzgerald’s at 802 654 6800. If you have been considering a gift, now is the time as the need has never been greater.

Please share with your animal-loving friends. The continuation of the rescue and the future of so many dogs depends upon it.
