Piper
11.19.17 Update: Piper has been adopted.
This is Piper, 85 pounds of bulldog love. She has lived with kids and thinks that cats are simply awesome! Piper is estimated to be about two years old. She was found roaming the streets having recently undergone a C-Section, she was hurting and infected. These folks nursed her back to health but then had to leave their home for a much smaller one. Piper was given a dirt hole in the back yard and a blanket. A passerby saw her and alerted a friend who went to the home and asked to take her. Piper was not spayed, vaccinated or most likely fed as she was very thin. This lady has been fostering her for three months and just recently surrendered her to VEBR.
Piper has lived with 7 dogs, 7 cats, kids and adults. She is described as very low key. She lets the cats rub on her face and is just a good girl. At some point her ears were cropped making her look more foreboding than she is. Piper is now in Vermont where she is healing from skin and ear infections, open bite wounds, and eye problems.
She accepts most dogs with a proper, slow introduction and loves everyone.
She is an innocent little soul who has been wronged and intentionally mistreated and abused by many. However, her spirit is unbroken and heart still full. She’s a special girl who has touched all of us with her perseverance and forgiveness.
