P. Nut has been adopted.

It was about a year and a half ago that I received a call from Kathy. Sadly her close friends Brett and Francis had passed away leaving behind their beloved Old English Bulldog Zappa. With the help of a family member we were able to get him neutered and updated medically. Soon after he was adopted into a loving Vermont family.

Why all the story? Well this week I had several messages from Mark. The messages were about having to give up his buddy of 7 1/2 years due to personal reasons. When Mark got to this part in the message, the sadness was palpable. It took several calls and messages but finally we spoke this morning.

Mark was best friends with Brett and Francis as well. In fact they gave him, P. Nutt as a gift. The Universe is a busy entity, endlessly stitching together the needs, wants schedules, people, locations and tools with which to finish a quilt of success. A quilt that ties us to friends, once strangers who have dogs, once nameless and in need, now under our wing and headed to a new chapter. This chapter does not intend to negate all that came before. There was devotion, caring, fun, love, exploring and most importantly trust that each moment would continue. For Zappa, death stole that journey but opened a new one that offers all of the same with his new family. For P.Nutt personal circumstances will do the same. We can not do more than supply the balm of our promise to sooth Marks heart.

However we can reach out and find the best home possible. Mark describes P. Nutt as a “spectacular dog”. He is laid back, loving and kind. P. Nutt is 7 1/2 and weighs 75 pounds. Mark will be moving in early May and so would like to get this boy settled into a new home as soon as possible. We will need to get him into our vet for update on vaccines and neuter prior to adoption. He will need to be placed in a home with no other dogs or cats.
