Ozzy

1.27.18 Update: Ozzie has been adopted.

COURTESY POST

Ozzy is urgently in need of a home. The combination of a move for the family and Ozzy’s reactivity to the young children and other dogs in the home makes this imperative but not easy. He is loved but can not stay with his family. We do not want opinions or drama just shares that will help him relocate and avoid going to a shelter.

We are more than full right now. As such we are networking him but do not physically have him. Fill out the application on our website (www.VermontEnglishBulldogRescue.com) and mention Ozzy
.
Information from his owner:

Age: 5 1/2
DOB 11/7/2012
He was gifted to us as a puppy, believed to be from a puppy mill raid.
We have had him since he was eight weeks old.

His issues include:
Allergic to cats and their dander
Allergic to fleas and their dander
Reactive aggression toward some dogs specifically dogs he lives with, both have been female and are older than him. We have had no issues with dogs outside of our home.

Shows irritability around little kids (he has never been aggressive toward my son) he just does not like to be bothered
he is not even the slightest bit food aggressive toward dogs or people.
He is dominant
He does not chase or bite, not the least bit aggressive toward people, only some dogs.
He is on Earth Born Coastal Catch Holistic limited ingredient grain-free food with a supplemental diet of fruits and other veggies or chicken and salmon.

He is in great health despite his allergies. He is currently on Apoquel to ease symptoms from allergies as we have a cat
He has no other health issues other than what is caused by his allergies, ear infections and yeasty paws have been issues in the past but are managed with proper cleaning and care.

He is up to date on all vaccines, heart worm tests have always been negative and he is on preventative along with flea and tick preventative

We are running out of time to find him placement. This has become an urgent situation as we have been trying to find rescue/foster or home to home adoption for him since late November.

We love Ozzy very much and did not come to this decision lightly. This is our only option as we have exhausted ourselves otherwise. We have run into quite a bit of judgment and ignorance through this process, all we want is for him to have a chance at a good life and not wind up in a shelter.
