Gracie’s Adoption:

We want to start by thanking the countless people that submitted applications for Gracie. Gracie had a number of checkboxes that needed to be checked by potential adopters: a home with no children, a home with no other pets, and a home where a human can and will be home much of the time. Gracie found this combination with Sandra and Bonny. Gracie has headed to her furever home, where she can romp in a fenced-in yard and be spoiled as an only pet. Happy life, Gracie!

Gracie’s Story:

Cairn Terrier Mix born in January 2015. Seeking home with no children, no other pets, and not a lot of time at home alone.

Gracie is a white/tan scruffy low rider who loves her people. She has had a difficult past and is quite fearful of both humans she does not know and dogs. She has spent the last year living with a family and another dog. While she has come along quickly with learning to sit, stay, back, and look at her person on command, she hasn’t yet mastered down or stays. She is well housetrained. She has gotten much better with meeting new people and can be won over with yummy treats. She has struggled with becoming comfortable with other dogs. We feel it is best that she be in a home without other dogs.

Gracie’s favorite place is lying on or next to her person. She is a constant companion and gives the most delicate little kisses. She is quiet inside the house and could be a good apartment dog, given that she can get out and use her nose, which she also enjoys doing.

If you want a quiet constant companion, Gracie is your girl. She keeps track of her people and is uncomfortable being left alone. Although she has made some good progress on this in the last year.

Gracie is wonderful for grooming, toe trimming or visiting the vet. She loves short car rides and has good manners around her food. Overall, Gracie’s health is good, although she has had 2 seizures of unknown origin in the past year.
