Edgar does belong
Did you ever play the, “Which one does not belong game?” when you were a kid? We found ourselves reminded of that game for weeks after the arrival of the nine Basset cross pups from Texas. Although different colors and sexes, eight of them were recognizably siblings. One, Edgar, had more super model length legs and noticeably shorter ears. I spoke with the lady who rescued them and asked if there might be an impostor? Nope, all nine came together right off mom. And so we deduce that Edgar took after dad….whoever that may be.
Edgar is a tender boy, preferring to be held and carried than to walk. He can get down and dirty in his playtime with siblings but alone, he is the gentlest of souls. Andrew and Annalise came to meet this boy today. They had been looking for some time, but had not felt the connection.
Today, the one that did not seem to belong, belongs to his forever parents. It was clear from the emotion flowing that this is a match that was destined to be. The only thing brighter and more joyful than the Christmas tree is the love that emanates from this new family. Merry Christmas, little man. Happy life! You sure do belong!
