Arriving soon!
There is so much that goes into saving dogs. First pulling them from the shelter, then getting them to vet, then finding boarding. All of this is accomplished with the generous and selfless help of volunteers on the ground. We have PJ and Tiffany and Minh and Terri Lynn and Kristi and Vanessa and Lesley. They are all folks with lives and jobs and families who transport our dogs wherever they need to go. They take them into their homes in order to give each dog love, care and …a sense of normalcy. It also saves us a lot of money. We are so beyond grateful to you all.
Yesterday was transport day. That meant that the 10 dogs that we saved had to go to vet appointments beforehand and have exams and get Health Certificates in order to travel. Our volunteers did this. Yesterday all 10 dogs had to be at the pick-up spot at 9 a.m. There was a lot of juggling and folks stepping in for those who had meetings and places to be. All 10 dogs are on board.
We have:
1. Baxter, a very young Boxer
2 and 3. Birdie and Brie, two, three-month old Aussie Cattle pups (3.30.18: ADOPTED)
4. Max, a little Chi mix that was being sold on a flea market paper
5. Mocha, a mini Dachshund
6. Sasha, a young Great Pyrenees
7. Bonnie, an Old English Bulldog surrendered to shelter with uterine infection
8. Boomer, a black Terrier
9. Simon, a black/white/brown Terrier
All are healthy and will be ready for adoption upon arrival. They will be in Vermont Wednesday 3/27.
This all comes at a cost, and every dollar does allow us to keep doing this. There are 9 happy dogs that did not die in a shelter. Please help us continue doing what we do at the level that we do it. Donate at the website, here on the Facebook page at the vet clinic: Callaghan Road Animal Hospital, San Antonio or at the boarding facility, Alamo Heights AKC kennel San Antonio.
We can not do what we do alone.
